Hi, I’m Amy.
I live in Rochford, Essex with my husband Chris and 3 young boys Thomas, Jack and Alex.
When I finally realised after 15 years that being a pharmacy technician wasn’t for me, I decided to make the leap to a completely different and (apparently) less stressful way of life, working for myself and having a healthy work/life balance for the boys.
I have to be honest, I was never a driven person. I do what I need to do to get by. My family say that my favorite phrase is ‘ It will be fine’ and it usually is, what’s the point in meeting trouble half way?
But in this last year of starting a new business I have found a passion that I never knew I had. It’s harder work than I thought, and takes much longer than I thought , but I love it. I love that I can design and produce something which can truly make someone happy.
When I get a message saying that a gift has been passed onto the recipient and that they were so happy that it made them cry, or that a memorial gift for a family who had lost a loved one is now hanging on their wall in their lounge for all to see, it really does makes it all worthwhile.
Anyone can make something. But the personal touch of putting the customer’s stamp on it is what makes it unique. You can’t buy the love that has been put it to it. This new career has given me the compassion and respect that I didn’t know I was missing, and for that, I am thankful.
